The Growling Grass frog (Litoria raniformis) has been chosen as the icon for the Melbourne frog-mapping program. Growling Grass frog It was chosen because it is an endangered species which is still found within the Melbourne region. More information about the Growling Grass frog can be found on the Victorian Frog Group website www.frogs.org.au.
